Overview
A $1.75M remodel transformed the preschool building at an Atlanta Christian school, which lagged 20 years behind the rest of campus, lacked brand presence, and operated at only 80% enrollment. The goal was to create a cohesive, cross-campus brand experience that aligned the preschool with the school’s respected legacy and future-focused mission.Impact

Creative Concept
The preschool serves as the beginning of a family’s journey with the school, so the design needed create a meaningful first impression that connects to the full K-12 experience. Inspired by architectural landmarks across campus, like a 50ft glass cross tower, nature pond and greenhouse, and the school’s iconic arches, the concept centered around the idea of a mini campus, establishing the preschool as a seamless extension of the brand. Core themes of the concept were founded in the school’s brand pillars, which value faith infusion, family connection, academic success, and holistic development. Intentional design decisions interwove minimal but elegant design with natural elements to create a warm, uplifting environment where children and families immediately feel inspired by the school’s community. My approach in developing the concept with the interiors team combined strategic research with brand-driven design thinking. Beginning with campus tours, stakeholder interviews, and end-user insights, I was able to define the creative vision and narrative through mood boards and early sketches. With the story defined, I mapped out key customer touchpoint through out the space that would deliver high-impact, where I could then move into environmental graphics development. After a successful concept pitch, I collaborated closely with the interior designer and contractors to maintain consistency across brand elements and interior details to the overall vision.Campus Mural
Serving as a statement focal feature in the preschool, my custom illustrated 1,000sqft mural brought campus to life in a re-imagined way. The mural has been impactful and become a staple branding motif for the school, featured in marketing materials, campus magazines, and yearbooks. Student Journey Wall
Hallway space that felt like a bottleneck became an opportunity to illustrate the student development journey through the school’s programs through branded graphics on a custom-built accordion wall.
Tour Stops
Framing a living wall, these natural wood panels are used to display core brand messaging. The living wall itself was a key component in bringing freshness into the space, tying directly into the biophillic design principles that were important throughout the design of the space. After

Reading Nook
An important aspect to biophillic and child-centric design is to establish safety through cozy spaces. Soft lighting, nature inspired soft furniture, and a scripture feature bridge biiophillic design principles with the school’s values.
